Opposite the islands of Piana and Asinara, near Stintino, the paradise beach of La Pelosa dominates the landscape with the whiteness of its beach and the transparency of its waters. At the foot of Capo Falcone stretch the beaches of fine white sand and waters with chromatic hues from turquoise to blue. To the north they are enclosed by the tower of La Pelosa, an imposing seventeenth-century construction that towers over the seashore.

The festival of Sant’Efisio takes place every year on 1st May and is a magical celebration of faith and folklore, the sacred and the profane. A festival rich in colours, costumes, tradition ; the long procession: 3500 inhabitants of the island dressed in traditional costumes from every town and village and more than 200 riders on horseback.On the day of the festival people from all over the island gather together in Cagliari to take part in the procession. Situated in the territory of the Porto Torres municipality (SS), the Asinara island is one of the most spectacular islands on the Mediterranean as it has kept its naturalistic charm unaltered over the years. Its long history as a penal colony, in fact, ensured that the number of visitors was kept to a minimum, therefore preserving its natural environment.
