Arbutus Unedo , (Corbezzolo)Arbutus unedo (strawberry tree) is an evergreen shrub or small tree in the family Ericaceae, native to the Mediterranean region and western Europe north to western France and Ireland . The plant is very common in Sardinia, where I live.The fruit is a red berry, 1–2 cm diameter, with a rough surface. It matures in about 12 months, in autumn, at the same time as the next flowering. Oia village. Santorini (Greece). The village is approximately 150 meters above sea level. Myrtus communis, the common myrtle, is an evergreen shrub native to southern Europe, north Africa, western Asia, Macaronesia, and the Indian Subcontinent, and also cultivated. Mirto also is a popular liqueur in the islands of Sardinia and it is obtained from the myrtle plant through the alcoholic maceration of the berries. A very special flower that of Tricyrtis. . . Tricyrtis is a genus in the lily family (Lilaceae) commonly called “toad lilies”. These perennial herbaceous plants, native to Asia, but is widely grown, are generally found in shady conditions on the edge of forests.The star-like blossoms of this species are white with rich purple spots and purple stigmas.
