One of my favorite flowers is the Zantedeschia commonly known in Italy as Calla. Very common in the gardens of the old houses of my island, Sardinia (Italy), is a flower that retains the charm of simplicity and elegance.Zantedeschia are relatively hardy plants and may be considered two groups: a group with large white flowers (arum lilies) and a group with white-spotted leaves and flowers in many colours (calla lilies), such as yellow, orange, pink and purple.Zantedeschia has often been used in paintings it was a favourite subject of the painter Georgia O’Keeffe.Photo © Daniela Serra 2016 – All Rights Reserved

Alstroemeria commonly called the Peruvian lily or lily of the Incas, is a genus of flowering plants in the family Alstroemeriaceae.Many hybrids and at least 190 cultivars have been developed, featuring many different markings and colors, including white, yellow, orange, apricot, pink, red, purple, and lavender. A Nasturtium … by the color red.I like to cultivate these flowers in my terrace. They are very generous flowers and abundant blooms.  Even their round leaf is very beautiful.   “Tropaeolum majus” (garden nasturtium) is a flowering plant in the family Tropaeolaceae, originating in the Andes from Bolivia north to Colombia. It is widely cultivated, both as an ornamental plant and as a medicinal plant. All its parts are edible. A very special flower that of Tricyrtis.    .    .  Tricyrtis is a genus in the lily family (Lilaceae) commonly called “toad lilies”. These perennial herbaceous plants, native to Asia, but is widely grown, are generally found in shady conditions on the edge of forests.The star-like blossoms of this species are white with rich purple spots and purple stigmas.
