Pisa (Italy), Monumental Cemetery

The Piazza dei Miracoli , is a walled 8.87-hectare area located in Pisa, Tuscany, Italy, recognized as an important center of European medieval art and one of the finest architectural complexes in the world. The square is dominated by four great religious edifices: the Pisa Cathedral, the Pisa Baptistry, the Campanile, and the Camposanto Monumentale (Monumental Cemetery) founded in 1277 by Giovanni di Simone. The structure of the Cemetery represents an oblong cloister in flowery “Gothic” style, with the aim of accommodating the sarcophagi from the Roman period, which until then were scattered around the Cathedral and reused as illustrious Pisans’ burials. The building had to be a “large and decent, secluded and closed”; the result is one of the oldest medieval Christian architectures, destined to cult of the dead.In 1987, the whole square was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.Source:http://www.leaningtower-ofpisa.com/monumental-cemetery-of-pisa/

Archaeological Sardinia (Italy)

Sardinia’s Nuraghic monuments, dolmen, menhir, domus de janas, giants’ tombs, all striking testimonials to an ancient megalithic culture, are believed to be surrounded by strong magnetic energy which influences and improves the wellbeing of body and soul. Even Aristotle reported that in Sardinia lying close to a Tomb of the Giants was a way to get rid of nightmares and obsessions. The necropolis of Sant’Andrea Priu is an archaeological site located on the south side of the fertile plain of Saint Lucia, in the municipality of Bonorva, Sardinia. The complex, one of the most important of the island, is composed of twenty domus de janas; one of them with its eighteen rooms appears to be one of the largest hypogean tombs of the Mediterranean basin. Chronologically, the complex is dated 3500–2900 BC. In the necropolis lies this Dolmen very particular form of bull ..http://www.sardegnaturismo.it/en/article/stones-and-water–ancient-sources-wellnessPhoto © Daniela Serra 2016 – All Rights Reserved

Sardinia (Italy)

“A voyage over an emerald sea, past characteristic coves and beaches of snowwhite sand … this is Sardinia, an island that strikes its visitors with natural contrasts, the lights and colors of a region that boasts old traditions and a wild and pure nature. Situated in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, Sardinia is a mainly mountainous region, without high peaks, with a vast and charming, yet bittersweet, natural environment. In fact, the presence of man does not seem to affect this territory; great surfaces still preserve their natural composition, luxuriant woods with even millenary trees, small desert areas and marshes inhabited by deer, wild horses and rapacious birds. ….source  http://www.italia.it/en/discover-italy/sardinia.html

Sardinia (Italy). Beaches

Opposite the islands of Piana and Asinara, near Stintino, the paradise beach of La Pelosa dominates the landscape with the whiteness of its beach and the transparency of its waters. At the foot of Capo Falcone stretch the beaches of fine white sand and waters with chromatic hues from turquoise to blue. To the north they are enclosed by the tower of La Pelosa, an imposing seventeenth-century construction that towers over the seashore.
