One of my favorite flowers is the Zantedeschia commonly known in Italy as Calla. Very common in the gardens of the old houses of my island, Sardinia (Italy), is a flower that retains the charm of simplicity and elegance.Zantedeschia are relatively hardy plants and may be considered two groups: a group with large white flowers (arum lilies) and a group with white-spotted leaves and flowers in many colours (calla lilies), such as yellow, orange, pink and purple.Zantedeschia has often been used in paintings it was a favourite subject of the painter Georgia O’Keeffe.Photo © Daniela Serra 2016 – All Rights Reserved

Santorini : The Churches. . . Santorini’s churches are defined by anonymous vernacular architecture . The island has over 600 churches and chapels. These are simple, square edifices, mostly done in a sparse white. Without any particular ornamentation. Churches forman integral part of the island architecture with different typologies and influences evident. The churches and the chapels of Oia are white and blue domed in general .
